ACRE and DEFIBRILLATOR GALLERY present a one night exhibition on Saturday, April 18 at 7PM at 1463 W Chicago Ave.  ACRE has partnered with DEFIBRILLATOR GALLERY to host Da’NIRO ELLE BROWN // NEEDS, the next installment in ACRE’s year-long series of exhibitions by 2013 ACRE summer residents. A $10 donation will be requested at the door.

Da’NIRO ELLE BROWN (1993) is a multidisciplinary visual and performance artist whose practice is based on an exploration of the human form. She has a distinct aesthetic that bridges a multitude of media including sculpture, performance, video, and photography. Brown has a keen interest in process, evolution of sexuality, and intimacy to form. These interests are informed by society, speculation, and biological development. NEEDS is a new work created specifically for this exhibition at Defibrillator.

DEFIBRILLATOR GALLERY is committed to presenting a vast range of styles and forms of performance art. Also known as DFBRL8R, our 501c3 arts organization is dedicated to fostering local makers while invigorating Chicago with artists of exceptional calibre from around the globe. Contextualizing performance within visual art, DEFIBRILLATOR presents work by artists who look to the body, objects, space, and time for inspiration, research and practice. Dynamic programming, decidedly fearless and unique, aims to provoke thought and stimulate discourse surrounding performance art. DFBRL8R actively contributes to a global dialog surrounding the exhibition of conceptual, ephemeral, or enigmatic forms of time-based expression.
