Information Collected by ACRE
All site visitors: Our server keeps logs of your IP address, certain browser details, and what pages you access on the site. This information is also submitted to a third-party analytics service, but in a form in which your information is not personally identifiable.
Residency applicants: We collect basic personal details, contact information, and information about your preferences for the residency. Applicants can also volunteer certain demographic information. The remainder of the application is information on the applicant's artistic practice (the portfolio), for use by our admissions panel.
Donors: We collect and retain the name and contact information from our donor form.
We do not retain any payment information.
ACRE’s Use of Information
Server logs are used for troubleshooting site functions, and are retained for 30 days, only. The logs that we keep in a third-party service for analytics purposes are retained for up to 2 years.
Application data is used in our residency admissions process. We retain the full applications, including portfolios, for up to 5 years, and only the basic personal details or aggregate statistical information, indefinitely. Applicants may contact us via the email given on this site to have their applications removed from our system earlier than this 5 year period. Applicants consent to the sharing of their name and portfolio with the residency admissions panel for the year in which they apply.
You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. To change your mailing list preferences, use the link provided therein. By contacting us via the email given on this site, you may also update your contact information with us, request to see what data we have about you, request that we remove your data, or express any concern that you may have.
Disclosure of Your Information
Your personal information may only be disclosed to third parties: (1) with your consent; or (2) when we have a good faith belief that it is required by law, for example by receipt of subpoena or other judicial order.

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
Wherever we collect sensitive information (artist statements, credit card data, etc.), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.
