ACRE bids adieu for the season with a good old fashioned Pilsen block party! No cover, plenty of free stuff and cheap drinks in limited glow-in-the-dark cups as ACRE celebrates Chicago’s first official summer weekend. Before we head out to Wisconsin for the 2012 Residency Program, join the ACRE volunteer staff, along with residents old and new, while we lounge in the kiddie pool, and play games and activities for all ages including face painting, water balloon slingshots, temporary tattoos, and more. Make sure to stop by the craft table and cheap yard sale or get some grub. We’ll be grilling up some various proteins, veggie and non, and serving ice cream, plus homemade sparkling lemonade outside and harder (but no less refreshing) fare in the gallery. And the city will be bringing us a jumping jack for your jumping pleasure! Its sure to be a cool blast on a hot Summer day!

Keep the fun going and head over to Landscrape at 8:30pm for another ACRE Music Showcase to raise funds for our Golden Apple Music Scholarship! Ross Kelly will be DJing with sets by The North, Winston, Windbreaker, and Songs for Gods. Visuals by Glen Jennings and Benjamin Funke. DJ Rule Lordi will close it out and have you dancing all night long!
