HAYNES RILEY was born and raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He received a MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2011 and a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2006. He has participated in residencies at Ox-Bow, ACRE, Open Book, and Vermont Studio Center. His work has appeared in numerous exhibitions around theUnited States, including group shows at Cranbrook Art Museum (Bloomfield Hills), Scarab Club (Detroit), Co-Prosperity Sphere (Chicago), Vessel & Page (Pontiac), Work (Ann Arbor), Ford Gallery (Ypsilanti), WOPOZI (Minneapolis), and The Bedfellows Club (Minneapolis), and solo exhibitions at Outer Space (Facebook), a clean poorly lighted space (Menomonie), A+ Gallery (Minneapolis), and forthcoming at Hammock Gallery (Los Angeles). Riley is founder, director, and curator at Good Weather, a contemporary art gallery in North Little Rock, Arkansas. This past year he curated In All Kinds of Weather at Gallery Protocol (Gainesville) and presented work as part of 9/50: A Southeast Arts Presenters Summit at Atlanta Contemporary Art Center. He currently lives and works in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he teaches at Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
