Announcing the new Links Hall Performance Scholarship for 2015 ACRE Residents!

In order to further support the careers of our alumni and provide free services to our artists, the Artist Cooperative Residency and Exhibitions Project (ACRE) has partnered with Links Hall to offer a scholarships available to performance artists who are granted admission to the residency. ACRE’s two-tiered programming structure supports emerging artist through their residency program in rural Wisconsin, and subsequently provides all residents with exhibition opportunities in Chicago during the year.

To qualify for a Links Hall Performance Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

  • An artist working in performance who lives in Chicago and is over the age of 18.
  • Apply to the ACRE Residency Program by program deadline. (Applications will be released in January 2015)
  • Indicate eligibility for the Links Hall Performance Scholarship on the financial aid section of the ACRE Application.

Links Hall encourages artistic innovation and public engagement by maintaining a facility and providing flexible programming for the research, development and presentation of new work in the performing arts. Since 1978, Links (a 501(c)3 organization) has incubated performing artists through its residency programs, artist-curated festivals, cabaret and performance series, co-presentations with self-producing artists, low-cost space rentals, direct grants to artists, workshop programs, apprentice producer program, fiscal sponsorship program, and as one of 72 presenting and visual arts partners in the National Performance Network. Links Hall has provided research, development and performance opportunities for nearly 10,000 artists and welcomes an average of 6,000 audience members per year. Our programming provides a fail-safe environment where both artists and audiences can take equal risk.

ACRE (Artists’ Cooperative Residency and Exhibitions) is a volunteer-run non-profit based in Chicago devoted to employing various systems of support for emerging artists and to creating a generative community of cultural producers. ACRE investigates and institutes models designed to help artists develop, present, and discuss their practices by providing forums for idea exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and experimental projects.
