Work in this exhibition begins within an endless series of stops and starts. Magnifying the liberation and ultimate demise of the American Hippie Movement the initial thoughts and images reflect upon current mirroring elements of modern culture in relation to the Woodstock and Altamont concerts, signifying the height and low of the 60’s. Subsequent generations seek to define themselves from the elements carved out and altered from the “present tense” of previous times. These works are a reflection as well as a ponderance of American belief systems and ideas of authority and anti-authority. It is intended that the work reflects both aspects of this ideal. There is a constant horizon. It is always sunset. It is always sunrise.
