Kadabra Volume 4 features a selection of recipes from the 2013 ACRE Residency kitchen. This year’s cookbook features recipes and essays edited and compiled by Rachel Ettling, one of our founding chefs. Recipes are complimented with beautiful illustrations by resident alum Steven Vainberg. Each book cover is unique and made by kitchen staff members and artists Ashley Hudson and Virginia Aberle. Administrative staff members Caitlin Arnold and Nicholas Wylie contributed editing and design work.

Joseph Rynkiewicz lives and works in Chicago. His work was recently shown at ACRE Projects and New Capital. He holds a BFA in photography from Columbia College and although he doesn’t really make photographs any more, the degree helped land him a pretty great job. He loves whiskey and cats.

Sara Condo, Still Life, 2013

Sara Condo is an interdisciplinary artist who currently resides in Chicago, IL. Born and raised in Cicero, IL she is a third-generation Lithuanian-American who uses Chicago as a living site for exploration into the complexities of socio-economic class, psychology and gender. Her work combines sound, photography, video and computer programming. Her work has been exhibited internationally as well as internationally. Recent exhibitions include Love to Love You, Roots and Culture, Chicago, IL and Prepped, Usable Space, Milwaukee, Wi. Condo studied Media Arts at DePaul University and received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute in 2009. In 2014, she will continue her education at UIC in the MFA program.
