Old Work/New Work explores issues of labor and value as viewed through the lens of family and the performance of manhood. The work in this show was made in collaboration with the artist’s father or with him in mind. These projects examine the disparities in value given to skilled, unskilled, and cultural workers, and the attendant class divides associated with these disparities.

Garett Yahn is a multi-disciplinary artist and educator living in Boston, MA. Through a combination of reverence and humor, his work investigates the murky waters of ascendance into adulthood and the double moving targets of manhood and professionalism. The roles of family, culture, and class are frequently questioned, prodded and put on display. Recent exhibitions and performances include Slowness at Howard Art Project in Boston, Bookstore at Drift Station in Lincoln, Nebreaska, and Infr’actionat Open Space in Sete, France. Garett is currently a visiting faculty member at Tufts University and has an upcoming solo exhibition at Bentley University in Waltham, MA.

Happy Collaborationists is the curatorial collective of Anna Trier and Meredith Weber. “Happy C” provides exhibition opportunities for performance, installation and media works – including but not limited to solo exhibitions, public programming and private event planning. Together Anna and Meredith also collaborate on their own performance art practice under the name Meredith and Anna.
