For this exhibition the artist recounts his experiences riding shotgun while a crew of CNN enlisted storm-chasers led him through remote regions of Oklahoma in 2013. On this day the largest tornado ever recorded touched down outside of El Reno and expanded to 2.6 miles in diameter. The storm reached speeds of 296 mph and killed 4 known storm-chasers. Wearing executioners garb, Cordas documented the storm within roughly 1 mile of the cone funnel using 6 GO-PRO cameras mounted within the hood of this costume. The footage has been converted into a 3D experience viewable via OculusRift.
I brought a mason jar full of wasps to the party
jus in case I didn’t like it at the party.
