- Iceberg
Still from Iceberg
2014, video, 7 minutes
Iceberg is a story of erosion in the desire to leave, in coming to terms with and in staying. The work stems from a daily encounter with the security guard sat behind a Frank Gehry desk in the lobby of the Inland Steel Building, Chicago. The video's dispersed, yet singular, voiced narrative moves between resignation, reporting and remembering. Language erodes itself. At points supported, and at others contradicted, by the printed imagery the camera sees. The video questions the utility of rehearsal. Rehearsal; in the inertia of guarding, as a place of pausing, and as a process of learning through repetition.
