- seductiveness the which issued by the whole person
Book generated from a conversation with an oak tree.
During a complete reading of Virginia Woolf's, 'Orlando,' the tree's vibrational response was measured, used to establish a key of translation between vibration and word. The text of the novel was generated during a period of listening, in which I translated the tree's vibrations back into the words of the novel.

- Concert for Plants by Plants
Series of live performance of a cherry tree in western Massachusetts to an audience of invited houseplants in Chicago, IL. The cherry tree's vibrations were measured using a piezo sensor, and sent over the worldwide web to Chicago. These vibrations were amplified and played in real time through ceramic dishes (and later, a wooden platform) where the audience plants sat.

"upon writing grass" is a story written by an oak tree in Chicago. Embodied in a wooden floor made of sustainably harvested Chicago oaks, the story emerges as both text and vibration.
- phytovision (excerpt)
Human and plant perspective video of a road trip from Chicago, Illinois to Saugatuck, Michigan. Scientific research indicates that plants perceive both light and shadow, as well as the colors red and blue. With original soundtrack.
- Novel by an Oak Tree
Documentation of a performance in which a novel was produced from a conversation with an oak tree. During a complete reading of Virginia Woolf's, 'Orlando,' the tree's vibrational response was measured, and I established a key of translation between vibration and word. The text of the novel was generated during a period of listening, in which I translated the tree's vibrations back into words. Four months later, this novel, "Seductiveness the which issued from the whole person," was read aloud to another, younger oak tree during a gallery performance, inspiring the next generation of literature written by trees.
