53 artists from across the country convene in Southwest Wisconsin to pursue their practices as part of ACRE’s summer residency program.
Chicago, IL, June 25, 2026 —Artists’ Cooperative Residency & Exhibitions (ACRE) is pleased to announce the selection of 53 national and international artists for this year's Summer Residency Program.
As we embark on our 17th residency season, ACRE is eager to welcome this new cohort of visual artists, performers, musicians, and writers to our community in Steuben, WI. During their residency, participants have access to a variety of materials, equipment, expert guidance, conscientiously sourced food, and numerous opportunities to share their work.
The 2026 summer residency, hosted over three sessions from June 18 to August 11, will take place in the Driftless region of Southwest Wisconsin at the Mother Earth Green Center. This scenic setting offers a perfect backdrop for artists to create, reflect, collaborate, and recharge.
Alumni artists play a crucial role at ACRE, returning each summer as staff mentors to lead studios, offer demos and workshops, and help shape the residency experience. Their involvement ensures that the collective spirit of ACRE is continuously renewed and preserved.
To select our residents, each year ACRE assembles a panel of experienced practitioners—spanning visual artists, curators, organizers, writers, and alumni of the residency program.
