ACRE Projects Lakeview
The 2024 A Road Together (ART) initiative awarded 51 Chicago-based arts and culture nonprofits $1.6 million in general operating funds. The grants support arts and culture organizations, including arts-centered social service groups, that are vital to Chicago’s identity and contribute to a more vibrant, equitable, and sustainable arts ecosystem.
This is the second year of a five-year, $15 million partnership between The Field Foundation of Illinois and MacArthur. The 25 organizations that will receive three-year grants were selected by a panel of artist and cultural leaders in Chicago, and the 26 organizations receiving one-year grants were selected by Field staff with the same criteria.
“Art has the power to connect people, create empathy, and advance a more equitable and inclusive Chicago.”
“Art has the power to connect people, create empathy, and advance a more equitable and inclusive Chicago,” said MacArthur Foundation’s Sandra Aponte, Program Officer, Chicago Commitment. “Through this $15 million investment in Chicago’s small and mid-sized arts and cultural organizations, we look forward to continuing to collaborate with the Field Foundation to support Chicago’s creative communities and address complex disparities in our city.”
