KT Duffy is a new media artist and educator from Chicago’s southwest side. They received their MFA in Interdisciplinary Art from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2014 and are currently an Assistant Professor of Art and Technology at Northeastern Illinois University. 
Working in the space between labor and automation, Duffy conjures entities into existence via code-based processes and digital fabrication. These entities fuse the aesthetics of digital devices with organic forms to speculate on a future modality where no entity is bound to a singular reality, expression, or substance. Their work spans a wide range of formats, including, but not limited to, installations, animations, sculptural pieces, prints, interactive web works, and AR/VR.

María Luisa Sanín Peña received a Foundation Degree in Art & Design at Central Saint Martin’s and a BA in Fine Arts in Chelsea College of Art & Design in London, United Kingdom.

Their art practice deals with hierarchies of taste and knowledge. They work with the distortion and editing of appropriated material from popular culture, as well as with the collection and intervention of discarded technological artifacts. These practices, coupled with the construction of installation-based environments, seek to create self-contained worlds with elements of our media landscape: referential, but strange. The works aim to reconstruct contemporary society from its most banal elements: celebrity culture, memes, colloquialisms, garbage.

Ground Level is a non-gallery arts platform and event space. Our mission is to integrate the audience into art experiences. Our name implies an equal and non-hierarchical playing field. We are a shoes-off space, so come prepared to leave your shoes and expectations at the door. We support a range of events focused on audience participation and artful living.
